Biography
With over 18 years of experiences, Syna Leang, owner of the Syna Styling makeup artist school and studio is one of the leading makeup artists in the rapidly developing fashion and beauty industry in Cambodia. Whether she's called upon to create her signature look, best described as fabulous and confident or to work her magic for the runway show or on photo shoots, her understated, contemporary approach to beauty has made her indispensable to designers, editors, art and tv directors as well as celebrities alike. Through her online makeup tutorials and her role as a makeup tutor, Syna has become one of the most recognized faces in the beauty circuits in the Kingdom of Wonder.
Syna is based in Phnom Penh, throughout her career, she has maintained a high editorial profile working with many of the top fashion photographers and modeling agencies in Cambodia. Her masterful makeup artistry appeared on the covers and pages of many fashion magazines such as Discover Magazine, SOVRIN- Magazine, AsiaLIFE Magazine, Ladies Magazine. She has collaborated with the country's top fashion houses on their fashion shows such as Axara, Phnom Penh Designers Week, Cambodia Fashion Week and Miss Cambodia, just to name a few.
Syna's mission has been always to help women build confidence and empower them to reach their full potential through different styles of makeup and hairstyle. In order to share her passion and creativity, she launched Syna Styling makeup artist school and studio in 2012. She has been an excellent mentor to train makeup and hair styling artists on the latest techniques to produce flawless complexions, beautifully defined eyes and perfectly tinted lips. Corporate clients such as Mobitel, Darlin Darlin Club, Nagaworld, Cambodia International Airport, Topaz and Unilever regularly work with Syna and her corporate makeup training for their customer-facing staffs. Her continued success comes through listening to each of her client’s individual needs and thoughtfully designing a custom makeup look that reflects and enhances the face’s own unique natural beauty.
Syna is also a special effects makeup artist and often works with top movie directors such as Angelina Jolie, Rithy Panh and Régis Wargnier to bring their vision for the actors and actresses to reality, her movies portfolio include "First They Killed My Father", "Un barrage contre le Pacifique", "Le Portail, "Shiiku, The Catch", "Saigon, Summer of our 20’S", "Act of Valor", etc.
While wedding makeup and hairstyling are Syna's other specialties. She has been a part of countless brides’ special days and has been showered with thank you notes and referrals from satisfied clients. Syna puts her clients instantly at ease by making them feel comfortable, respected and, most importantly, looking and feeling their absolute best!
